“Improv is what helped me overcome the anxiety that I was feeling sometimes.

It’s the thing that pushes me to be present, and to keep moving through all of the what-ifs that go through my mind.”

— Emma Stone

Co-facilitated by a therapist and an improv coach, Improv Connect offers improv comedy-based therapy for adults experiencing social and generalized anxiety.

Within a small supportive group that meets for 8 weeks, you will learn coping skills that will help you better manage the uncomfortable feelings of anxiety. You will gradually practice your new skills in real time through tailored improv comedy exercises that are designed to help you on the path towards overcoming social anxiety.

Our approach draws on aspects of mindfulness therapy as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), with sessions consisting of improv exercises and group discussions that will help you explore your emotions and increase your sense of self-acceptance, self-compassion, interpersonal, and relationship skills - deepening your feelings of connection to other people within the group and beyond.
